About the Painting:
I had wanted to paint Vivien Leigh from the very beginning of this series. It was one of those times when the title of a painting comes before the painting itself.
The name Frankly Scarlett, came with the image of a beautiful Scarlett O'Hara draped in red velvet highlighting her alabaster skin and piecing eyes, all set against a burning sky. I have always loved the publicity image of Scarlett and Rhett embracing against a fiery sky, and I wanted to capture that in my painting.
However, I had left Vivien on the back burner for the simple reason that I could not find a Frank Lloyd Wright building to pair her with. For me, there must always be a connection between the model and the hat she wears.
When I told someone about my dilemma, they just happened to mention Frank Lloyd Wright’s Auldbrass Plantation. "What? Seriously?” I exclaimed. “Are you telling me that Frank Lloyd Wright designed a plantation?” If ever the stars were in alignment for this series, it was now. Miss Scarlet could wear a plantation as a hat, and if that wasn't enough, Auldbrass Plantation is built with red brick. "Ok, please. Stop it. You can't Wright this stuff".
Auldbrass Plantation breathes the Deep South with meandering grounds that are rooted with storied oaks dripping in Spanish moss. Frank has brilliantly incorporated his signature style to fit the needs of plantation living.
As easy as Vivien is on the eyes, so was the process of painting her. A joy from start to finish; time flew and was Gone with the Wind.

About Vivien Leigh (1913-1967)
Vivien Leigh was a British stage and film actor. She played a wide variety of roles, including heroines of George Bernard Shaw and Shakespearean leads. She is most famous for her portrayal of Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind and the film adaption of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Prints on fine art paper include a white border for easy framing, which can also act as a mat. Therefore, your image will be smaller than its total paper size. Border sizes are stated and shown in the photo of each listing.

Shipping
I currently ship within Canada and the Continental United States. Each print is hand packed by me to ensure its safe arrival. Please understand that I am a single artist, working full time, and printing each painting to order, so expect up to three weeks for arrival.
I provide budget-friendly Domestic shipping within Canada, however Canada Post does not provide a tracking number for this method. You will receive a notification from my store when your painting has been shipped.
If you live in the United States, Canada Post does provide a tracking number that will be included in your shipping notification.
If you do not receive an email stating that your painting has shipped within two weeks, please contact me.
In the unlikely event there is a problem during shipping, please photograph the packaging and the problem and contact me so that I can contact the Post.
